Civil war?

Being far away from home and seeing the devastation thats taking place in South Africa is so sad. The country has really slid horribly over the last few years,

When you see civilians taking up arms, like the video below, it feels like a civil war? People see the need to take up arms and do what the Police should be doing, ‘protecting its citazens’

When the military are called out in masses to sort out the looting and chaos, (video Ricardo Koopman below) you wonder whats about to happen next. Violence causes violence.

Words cannot express the sadness, this was my country of birth, and as Thabo Mbeki said, ‘I am an African, I was born here’

Please pray for South Africa.

Telling meaningful stories whether they shorts or features is what gets me out of bed every day. Passionate about those captured in slavery. Biographical films (The Perfect wave with Scott Eastwood) and (Biblical epic Samson with the late Rutger Hauer, Jackson Rathbone, Billy Zane and Taylor James) My recent short films Beat The Curve, Sex Tourism Labour have been awarded best shorts across the globe in 2020.

  1. In South Africa we are reaping the rewards of 20 plus years of ANC Cadre deployment of thieves, ineptitude at all levels and wholesale looting of state coffers , actually taxpayers money, whilst the whole country erupts in flames and civil unrest, the immediate pain is felt at the bottom with the very poor, whilst the government of the day, actually of the decade, offers soft platitudes and cosy pleadings to unite. Unity in this poor country has unfortunately drifted far out to sea whilst the island left behind lies exposed and unable to escape its growing, simmering volcanoe.
