JUST STAYING ALIVE?

Is one still useful in the work environment when you 50+

This is a good question, especially when in a new country, – are you marketable?, do you skills meet the requirements of a new destination, will language be an issue?

In film, like good red wines, a Director should get better as he/she is more equipped to deal with the various situations you find yourself in as a captain of a ship. Producers also seem to get better with age, they have experience that allows them to understand the market and what works and what does not.

So is age just a number?

So with these thoughts in mind, I pick up my sword and shield daily and forge forward, making new contacts & friends working towards establishing myself in a new country.

My grandfather, said to me :

“do something do anything, even if its wrong! – the greatest sin is to do nothing at all”

So what can you take control of that can perhaps determine your future ? (your health = expertise, your attitude to life = wear a smile? etc…)

A key to staying young and able is to exercise and keep an active brain. Experience cannot be bought, but one cannot just rely on experience anymore as technology is moving so fast that if you not prepared to learn you will be left behind whether you old or young. There is so much new knowledge that the pendulum has swung in some ways, as young people are now teaching older people technology and how to interact with the new world. A real reversal from merely a decade and a half ago,

So can financial success or career success come after you 50? I hope so!!!!

So those who over 50 – take up your armour and your sword and embrace the youthful years ahead and believe that its not the end but the beginning, and those who under 50, remember you cannot stop the clock so enjoy being young and know that the one thing you cannot replace is time,
