Discovery medical aid in South Africa say you should do 10,000 steps, – well we do this daily but not only do we do it, we do 36 odd floors as part of the daily step regime. I am becoming a BOSS !!! To start each day we walk to the bakery and grab fresh rolls and a coffee, thats 1,900 steps before the day has really begun.

People in PORTO care about their fitness and bodies, they are forever walking, cycling, surfing, rowing & running. It is a positive lifestyle, and people look good, it’s inspiring to say the least. In Cape Town I always park as close to the entrance of wherever I am going to save walking or time, but here we don’t have a car, so there is no parking, just our feet.
What we have decide is that when we in our longer term rental house from the 1st of May, we will buy 2 electric bikes , one electric vespa and one car so we can achieve all we need to and get around the city and the surroundings.
Don’t you love the ‘surfboard rack’ – certainly not for a long board, but for Skye this would work perfectly. Its electric so no petrol costs. The cost of this is euro 1’999,00 brand new which really is a great deal. The one we looking at has a top speed of 45km/h and will travel for up to 100k/m before needing its next charge.
However I must say PUBLIC TRANSPORT is brilliant, so not sure we need a car other than for surfing and longer trips to Lisbon for business purposes. This is a big decision as cars are very expensive here, you getting nothing decent for under 5’000,00 euro and even then its bottom of the range.
Just as we thought we had a deal, the place we wanted to rent has changed the goal-posts, so now what ?
On a day when we face disappointment , there is a glimmer of excitement, we have seen a car we want to buy, amazing what you can do when you have a blank sheet and can repaint the picture of life.

So many exciting things are happening to you I just can’t keep up – and the car looks very groovy. Hope it gives you shelter in the rain! The walks are interesting and will keep you mega fit. What an interesting town you have chosen to live in. The pathways and roads must have been constructed many years ago but as you say not good for the knees!

Heya… You guys are doing excellently and exploring your surroundings whilst getting fit is the best form of exercise I know of, actually. So you are blessed there.
I forgot to mention the driving there is well… Worse than CT taxis driving at times, to say the least… Best to avoid unless going for long drives.. The smaller the vehicle the better!!! I thought I was going to be killed being driven around getting ready for my friends wedding but that’s the way they drive…. ‘Very proactively’…..
Anyway you guys have so much more to see further afield and when settled in properly, go visit Spain you will be overwhelmed by standing in front of the best Modern and older Artist in the World’s (in my opinion) art works in the art gallery in Madrid, It was one of the best experiences of my life!!! The lady guardian had to tell me to step back as I wanted to touch them, too feel the paint brush strokes… Having studied them most my life, it was phenomenal!!!
