Please let the sun shine

At home we have washing lines, they are an eye-sore so are usually put out of sight. But here as the sun come out, washing becomes the feature that catches your eye, and in a weird way it does not look ugly?

For a family of 5 I can assure you we are running out of space to hang our washing, – come sunshine please!!!!! Not sure how you cope in winter?

Another aspect of life we are having to get used to is all the walking we do, my step count has radically increased, perhaps more than double, – we do not have a car, so our mode of transport is our feet, thankfully I bought a great pair of Nike’s that are cushioned so even though its tough at least I have good shoes. My suggestion is buy a good set of shoes!

At home, I was very into cladding, and we clad our house with stone, and it has a unique look and feel but its not a norm, but here the building are covered in tiles and they look amazing!

I must say, we will buy some tiles and probably place them in strategic places, when we visit our home in South Africa.

This building from 1394, is still standing!!!!, but look at how stunning the tiled image looks? Something rather unique for a city and visually a photographers dream canvas.

The only problem, is they did not design the city for photographers as one is always looking up, great SUBJECTIVE camera angle to look powerful but challenging for the camera, and the exposure, as the sky does not always seem to be blue like Cape Town.

On the Uni situation, I joined a group called ‘South Africans helping South African’s’, what a great group and what an amazing amount of people that are happy to advise and help. So we discovered the best way is to enrol in a PRE-UNIVERSITY coarse, as this gives you 60 points, you learn the culture and the language and then start your Undergraduate degree and with the 60 points you guaranteed of entry into most courses.

Today is my business partners birthday, he is holding the fort in SA, and says he is going grey! Happy BIRTHDAY BUDDY, here is too many more…. and THE SHAPER and many more :

Dont forget to wear a mast and be considerate of others – cheers for now

Telling meaningful stories whether they shorts or features is what gets me out of bed every day. Passionate about those captured in slavery. Biographical films (The Perfect wave with Scott Eastwood) and (Biblical epic Samson with the late Rutger Hauer, Jackson Rathbone, Billy Zane and Taylor James) My recent short films Beat The Curve, Sex Tourism Labour have been awarded best shorts across the globe in 2020.

  1. Good news About pre – University course so roll on the 60 points for an ensured university entry. Bad news about washing for 5 – it must be a never ending nightmare.
