The adventures of travel with Covid, is unreal. We were due to fly tonight and were packed and ready.
In order to collect one’s PORTUGUESE visa, you need to present the consulate with a COVID result that shows ‘negative’. This cost R5’450,00 (USD 363,00) and is only valid for 72 hours, and now with the cancelled flight we have to fork this money out again.
If you from South Africa, we used a company called AT HOME COVID TESTING, and they come to your home, test you and get your results back to you within the 24 hours, such excellent service. Their number is +27 76 7633649. Useful information for anybody intending to travel or in need of a test.
What a relief to get the VISA, especially with the flight change. International travel is not a guarantee, not until you on the flight, this is particularly frightening.
Our new flight is with # Air France and it leaves two days later. Rather frustrating, but better than total cancelation. The route however is much more complicated, so when booking know that your intended route is not necessarily what you may get to travel.
So we get to enjoy another sunrise and sunset from our home in South Africa. Thankfully we did not sell, as we could stay in our apartment which is pretty divine to say the least, small but perfect for our needs, This was kept for trips back to do business in Cape town
So all one can do is relax and enjoy the ride, life seems to be about ‘going with the flow’, it’s maybe to hard to swim against the tide, a new lesson being learnt.
