Who am I ?

Award winning film director Bruce Macdonald , passionate about causes like ‘human trafficking’ – having done amazing awareness films called CAN YOU SEE ME for A21, which have both transformed opinions, won awards and most importantly made audiences think.

As a director and film maker I feel a responsibility to use the powerful medium to evoke change, we can reach so many people, sometimes millions, and thats awesome. Human trafficking is a massive global problem, and exploitation of human being must be stopped,

Also in the times we are living with Covid and the deaths, the lockdowns, and the sheer magnitude of impacted lives, job losses, death and an abnormal situation of living life as a recluses. I made a short film called BEAT THE CURVE which aimed at a simple message of ‘wear a mask, be thoughtful, wash your hands, be kind and live your best life’ – this project rocked global festivals and won best director, best film, best soundtrack, best producer etc… , so a good intention of creating awareness was rewarded not financially but by acknowledgement by our peers. The film was made through kindness, and donations, it cost 0.

Why follow my journey – well we are about to embark on a new journey, leaving the unknown and making wholesale changes to our lives, an I think this will inspire others to live their dreams…… after all we only have one life.

Telling meaningful stories whether they shorts or features is what gets me out of bed every day. Passionate about those captured in slavery. Biographical films (The Perfect wave with Scott Eastwood) and (Biblical epic Samson with the late Rutger Hauer, Jackson Rathbone, Billy Zane and Taylor James) My recent short films Beat The Curve, Sex Tourism Labour have been awarded best shorts across the globe in 2020.
